What is Hypnogenealogy (or Genealogical Hypnosis)© ?
"This technique is based on the idea that the traumatic experiences of our ancestors that influence our current life can be solved by using hypnosis", says Alex Raco, founder of Hypnogenealogy. This methodology is founded on the hypothesis that unresolved traumas or complex family dynamics can be inherited through generations, affecting our psychological and emotional well-being. The technique, using hypnotic trance, aims to bring these hidden dynamics to light, allowing the patient to explore and resolve the impacts of past experiences on their present life.
What are the benefits?
Hypnogenealogy offers several benefits, including:
Understanding of Family Dynamics: Helps to explore and understand the dynamics and behavioral patterns transmitted through generations, providing a key to interpreting current behaviors and emotions.
Identification of Unconscious Patterns: Allows the identification and work on inherited patterns, beliefs, and traumas that can influence daily life.
Emotional Well-being: Offers the opportunity to confront and heal ancient emotional wounds, leading to a greater self-understanding and improved emotional well-being.
Resolution of Current Problems: Can help to solve problems that may have roots in family history, such as difficulties in relationships, self-esteem issues, or compulsive behaviors.
Personal Growth: Promotes a path of personal growth, helping to build a new identity freer from past conditioning.
Connection with One's Roots: Provides a greater connection with one's roots and a deeper understanding of one's family history, contributing to a sense of belonging and continuity.

¿Is this technique suitable for everyone?
Hypnogenealogy is an accessible approach for everyone, mainly because it is based on the connection and exploration of known family history, rather than past lives or out-of-body experiences. This makes the process simpler, more direct, and less abstract, as it focuses on people and events that have a real and often documented foundation. Moreover, it does not entail particular risks, as it is a form of meditation and takes place in a controlled and guided context. The person is always in control and can interrupt the session at any time, just like a normal conversation. This practice can offer a greater understanding of oneself and one's family background in a more accessible and concrete way compared to many others.
¿Has Genealogical Hypnosis a scientific basis?
Hypnogenealogy is based on the union of two distinct approaches: Ericksonian hypnosis, developed by Milton Erickson, and psychogenealogy, theorized by Bert Hellinger. Ericksonian hypnosis focuses on adapting hypnotic techniques to the individual needs of the patient, encouraging exploration and personal discovery. Psychogenealogy focuses on the study of family dynamics and their impact on individual well-being. Many personal and psychological problems can be understood and resolved by examining and understanding the stories and behavior patterns of previous generations in the person's family. The union of these two approaches in genealogical hypnosis allows for a deeper exploration of family influences on an individual's behavior and psyche.
What happens during a session?
Through Ericksonian hypnosis, the subject accesses a state of relaxation and suggestion that facilitates the exploration of the subconscious, while psychogenealogy provides a theoretical framework for interpreting and understanding the information that emerges during hypnosis, in relation to the family and genealogical context of the subject.
